As always, there are great art galleries including Inger Jirby's or R.C. Gorman's Navajo Gallery a ten minute walk away, museums such as Millicent Rogers Museum and an abundance of unique shops in the Historic District. Of course, to the west you can soak in one of several natural hot springs including Ojo Caliente which is a 40 minute drive away.

Taos

People come here to relax and enjoy the southwest's grandeur. This is one of the unspoiled, rustic and un-crowded areas in the States. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter offer exciting outdoor activities - river rafting in the spectacular Rio Grande Gorge, numerous hiking trails both in the gorge and in Kit Carson National Forest along with plenty of places to explore on your bike. Experience a horseback ride on ancient Taos Pueblo land, marvel at the scenery on the historic Cumbres & Toltec railroad or visit the Earthships, homes made entirely of recycled materials.

The Taos Mountains are a spectacular area for hiking, walking in high meadows, seeing wildlife, flowers and fauna with over 300 days of sun year round to make your outdoor excursions wonderful. In the wintertime, enjoy quick access to four great ski and winter activity areas such as Taos Ski Valley, Red River, Angel Fire and Sipapu, all within 40 miles of Taos. Skiing at Taos Ski Valley is considered in the top 5 in the USA.

Geo-caching is becoming a fun activity, a sport played by many of our visitors. Find our place with the following coordinates: 36° 24' 23.5836" -105° 35' 1.2762°
